Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable EYFS Teaching Assistants to join our pool of supply staff, supporting Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils across a variety of primary schools in Selby. This is a flexible position ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic settings and are passionate about nurturing young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to EYFS pupils, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating environment conducive to learning.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
- Support the development of children's literacy, numeracy, social, and motor skills through play-based and structured learning activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and independence in line with school policies and the EYFS ethos.
- Work with small groups or individual pupils, adapting support to their individual needs.
- Assist with classroom preparation, tidying, and maintenance of resources.
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupils' progress and engagement.
- Ensure the health and safety of children at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in an EYFS setting is essential.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development milestones.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff.
- Adaptability and the confidence to work in new environments.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Flexibility to work in various schools on a supply basis.
